Samadhi House is a 3 bedroom eco designed South facing villa set on a hillside overlooking the Indian Ocean located in Tangalle.
An open-plan, and open sided, living and dining area allows maximum engagement with the gardens, and with the stunning ocean views. The rectangular infinity pool runs the length of the house, and the secluded beaches are just a few metres down the slope.
The flat roof has no fence and can be dangerous for small children. There is no fence around the pool. The gradient leading down the beach is steep and the steps are not paved. The beach at the bottom of the hill is lovely. It is shared with a hotel and generally too rough for swimming.
Direct beach access to pristine beaches and several other stretches of sandy paradise nearby.

Flat and turfed garden roof with viewing platform for sundowners. No fencing.

Meals: Comes with a chef who is capable of Western and local dishes and payment is on an ingredients - only basis + transport
Location
The villa is near Tangalle and is 75km away from the Mattala International airport and 226km away from the Bandaranayake International airport.
A gentle stroll down the slope will take you to a lovely little beach, one of four stretches of swim-able water within a few minutes’ walk.

The design of the house is beautiful, the views are wonderful and the location is stunning. All other staff were very kind and sweet and helpful in spite of some issues with the cook (some of which are management issues and not necessarily his fault). The natural beauty of the area is amazing. The house is very close to nature and dramatic.
Villanovo : Always good - this is our third Villanovo stay. This villa (Villa Samadhi) seems to be managed by Eden Villas and the service and staff were not quite up to the standard of the other Villanovo property we have stayed at (Villa Ouidane in Marrakech).
The villa needs to be managed better. Currently the chef is acting as the house manager which is not really a great arrangement as he is a great cook and a nice guy but he is not the best person for guest interactions. Numerous issues including no baby cot upon arrival, no drinks or bottled water available upon arrival, cook asked members of our party to leave the TV room so he could watch TV, cook sleeping in the TV room with volume turned all the way up etc. Additionally, it would be much better to have the house stocked with basics so the guests don't have to worry about the logistics and cost of getting coffee, bottled water, milk etc. It is a staffed house so you expect these things to be taken care of.
